Documents that export, hold your edits and record every revision

Generated documents are the ones that end up in front of a client, so this release is about making them come out right.

What's new

• Export a document of any size. A construction phase plan with fifty registers in it now exports in the background and tells you when it's ready, instead of the browser giving up part way through and leaving you unsure whether it worked.
• Keep the wording you've written. Edits you make to a section survive when the document is rebuilt, so a paragraph you reworded by hand doesn't quietly revert to the generated text the next time the data behind it changes.
• A revision record that matches the document. The revision table, the cover sheet and the contents page are worked out from the issue itself each time the document is opened, so an older copy no longer shows a revision number, a suitability code or an approver that has since moved on.
• See what a suitability code means before you pick it. The issue dialogue now spells out each code, so a document goes out marked for the purpose it was actually prepared for rather than whichever letter looked about right.
• Refresh a register without leaving the editor. Registers can be pulled up to date from inside Edit content, and an unissued document reads live data, so you're working from the current position rather than a snapshot taken when the document was first built.
• Control what a shared link gives away. When you share a document externally you can now decide whether the recipient can download the source files behind it, or only read the document itself.
• Search that forgives a typo. Lists across the app now match near misses, so a misspelt scaffold contractor or drawing reference still finds the record.
• RAMS grouped the way you'd describe them. The readiness board now groups items by their real state, so what is waiting on you is separated from what is waiting on somebody else.

Why it matters

Most document control disputes come down to a copy in somebody's inbox saying something different from the record. Rebuilding the revision details at the point of reading, rather than baking them in when the file was made, removes a whole class of that. And a document that won't export is a deadline you miss for no good reason.
